Patient Safety and Culture of Trust

The most important aim of the quality and accreditation work carried out in our hospitals is to create a safe environment for both our employees and our patients. Our institution is guided by national and international (JCI) patient safety goals in ensuring patient safety.

A systematic program is carried out so that the concept of patient safety becomes part of the institutional culture in our hospitals. Under this program, trainings aimed at raising our employees' and patients' awareness of patient safety are organized, visual materials are used, and employees are encouraged to report errors.

Reporting incidents and analyzing them to take preventive measures, in order to prevent the recurrence of events that threaten the safety of our patients and employees, is the most important parameter of our program. Our hospitals have an “Incident Reporting System” for detecting and tracking errors that occur.

Events that threaten patient safety are reported to the Quality Coordination Office as soon as possible by the person(s) who experienced and/or witnessed the event, using the “Incident Report Form.” Each report is preliminarily reviewed and recorded by our Coordination Office. Events that require more detailed investigation during the preliminary review are referred to the relevant committees, root cause analyses are performed, and the measures needed to prevent recurrence are determined and implemented.
