Patient and Family Rights and Education Committee

All patients and their relatives differ from one another in terms of their needs, strengths, values and beliefs. Our hospitals make an effort to establish a relationship of trust and open communication with our patients and to protect patients' cultural, psychosocial and spiritual values.

The committee's areas of work are defining, protecting and improving patient rights; informing patients about their rights; involving the patient's family/relatives in care decisions where appropriate; obtaining informed consent from the patient; training staff on patient rights; and planning, coordinating and evaluating the effectiveness of education activities for patients and their relatives. In this context, the committee carries out the following activities;

• Ensuring that all employees, patients and patient relatives are informed about patient rights,

• Ensuring that physical, linguistic, cultural and all other barriers to accessing services are reduced, and that respect is shown for personal values and beliefs,

• Ensuring that confidentiality of information and the right to privacy are respected,

• Ensuring that measures are taken against theft and personal assaults, and that additional measures are taken for child, disabled and elderly patients,
