Özlem Tekşam

Prof. Dr. Özlem Tekşam, Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları uzmanlık eğitimini ve ardından Hacettepe Üniversitesi Neonatoloji Bilim Dalında yan dal eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra Pediatri Poliklinik Şefi (Genel Pediatri Bölümü ve Çocuk Acil Poliklinik Sorumlusu) olarak çalışmaya başladı. 2000 yılında Minnesota Üniversitesi Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde ve 2006 yılında Kanada’da bulunan “The Hospital for Sick Kids” Hastanesi Çocuk Acil Bilim Dalında çalıştı. 2009 yılında Çocuk Acil alanında yan dal uzmanlık belgesini aldı. 2017 tarihinde Hacettepe Üniversitesi Eczacılık Fakültesi Farmasötik Toksikoloji alanında doktora programını tamamladı. 2010 yılında Doçentlik ünvanını alan Dr. Tekşam, 2015 yılından itibaren Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı'nda Pediatri Profesörü olarak görev yapmaktadır. Özel araştırma ve çalışma alanları obesite, kabızlık, sağlıklı beslenme, kazaların önlenmesi, triyaj, afet, travma ve toksikolojidir. 2015 yılında İhsan Doğramacı Çocuk Hastanesi Başhekim Yardımcılığı görevini yürüttü. Ayrıca 2005 yılından bu yana İhsan Doğramacı Çocuk Hastanesi akreditasyon çalışmalarında da aktif rol almaktadır. Uluslararası Pediatri Birliği (International Pediatric Association-IPA) İnsani Acil Durumlarda Çocuklara İlişkin Stratejik Danışma Komitesi'nin 2021-2023 döneminde eş başkanlığını yaptı. Halen Türkiye Milli Pediatri Derneği yönetim Kurulu üyesidir ve Türk Çocuk Acil Tıp ve Yoğun Bakım Derneği Başkanıdır. Ayrıca Avrupa Çocuk Acil Tıp (EUSEP) Birliği yönetim kurulunda görev yapmaktadır. “Turkish Journal of Pediatrics” Dergisinin de Çocuk Acil bölüm editörlüğünü yürütmektedir.
