About

Prof. Dr Eser Lay Ergün was graduated from “Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School” and “Ankara University Medical Faculty”. In 1999 she successfully completed her postgraduate theoretical and practical courses on Nuclear Medicine in “Department of Nuclear Medicine Hacettepe University, Ankara”. She became Associate Professor in 2005 and Professor in 2010.







Prof. Ergün studied on Nuclear Cardiology, Nuclear Oncology, Positron Emission Tomography, Radioiodine Therapy in Department of Nuclear Medicine of Hannover Medical School, Germany in 1996.







During the period of 2001-2002, she satisfactorily performed Positron Emission Tomography research on epilepsy and oncology in Wayne State University School of Medicine Children’s Hospital of Michigan in the U.S.A.







Prof. Ergün has scientific awards as the following: 1. “Hacettepe Üniversitesi Bilimde Teşvik Ödülü” (Hacettepe University Scientific Provocation Award) [2001-2002] 2. “Prof. Dr. İsmet Karacan Bildiri Araştırma Ödülü” (Prof. Dr. İsmet Karacan Research Award) [2001]; 3. “TÜBİTAK ve Beyin Araştırmaları Derneği 2003 yılı Proje Destek Yarışması Ödülü” (TÜBİTAK and Brain Research Association Project Support Award [2003] 4. “Türkiye Psikiyatri Derneği Bahar Sempozyumları 2003 Araştırma Projesi Teşvik Ödülü” (Turkish Psychiatry Association Spring Symposiums Project Support Award) [2003] 5. Her professional interests includePositron Emission Tomography on epilepsy/brain, cardiology and oncology.

She was the head of Department of Nuclear Medicine during the period of 2013-2016.
