Serdar Tekgül

İstanbul Amerikan Robert Lisesi'ni ve Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'ni bitirdi. Üroloji uzmanlığı eğitimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Üroloji Anabilim Dalı'nda 1991'de tamamladı. 1994-1995'te ABD'de Washington Üniversitesi'nde çocuk ürolojisi alanında üst uzmanlık çalışmalarını tamamladı. 1995'te doçent, 2002'de profesör oldu.

Serdar Tekgül evli ve bir çocuk babasıdır.

1996-2006 Arası Türk Çocuk Ürolojisi Derneği yönetim kurulu üyeliğinde bulundu. 2008 -2011 arasında bu Derneğin Başkanlığını yaptı.


2003'te Avrupa Çocuk Ürolojisi Derneği (ESPU)Yönetim Kurulu üyeliğine seçildi. 2002, 2008 yıllarında Avrupa Çocuk Ürolojisi Eğitim Komisyonu Başkanlığını yürüttü.

2008-2010 tarihlerinde Avrupa Çocuk Ürolojisi Derneği (ESPU) bilimsel sekreterliğini yaptı.

2010 yılından itibaren de Avrupa Çocuk Ürolojisi Derneği Genel Sekreterliğini yürütüyor.

Ürolojik Cerrahi Derneğinin 2010 da kurucu üyesi ve kurucu yönetim kurulu üyesi oldu, 2011-2013 arasında Ürolojik Cerrahi Derneğinin başkanlığını yaptı halen yönetim kurulu üyesi olarak çalışıyor.

2004'ten itibaren olmak üzere de Dünya İnkontinansı (idrar kaçırması) Danışma Kurulu'na seçildi, 2008’de bu kurulda çocuklarla ilgili komitenin başkanı oldu. Bu kurulun 2009 da yazdığı kitapta ( ICI 2009 report) çocuk idrar kaçırmalarıyla ilgili bölümü yazdı.

Ayrıca Avrupa Üroloji Derneği ( EAU ) nın Klinik Kılavuz Komiteleri içindeki Çocuk Ürolojisi kılavuzlarını( türkçe kılavuzlar için tıklayınız)yazan komitenin son 7 yıldır başkanlığını yürütüyor. Bu klinik kılavuzlar tüm Avrupalı doktorlara hastalıklar konusundaki güncel tedavi şemalarını anlatan ve yıllık güncellenen yol gösterici bilgiler içeren bir kitaptır.

2003 -2010 yılları arasında Prag da her yıl Eylül ayında Avrupa Üroloji Derneğince organize edilen Avrupa Üroloji asistan eğitim programında Pediatrik Üroloji eğitimi konusunda eğitici olarak yer aldı.

Yurt dışı dergilerde ( SCI tarafından taranan) yayınlanmış çocuk ürolojisiyle ilgili 86 bilimsel makalesi vardır. İngilizce yayınlamış 6 kitapta bölüm yazarlığı vardır. Ayrıca çocuk ürolojisi alanında 100 üstünde uluslararası bildiri ve 200 civarında ulusal yayın ve bildirisi vardır.

Journal of Pediatric Urology'nin 2006-2010 arasında ikinci editörlüğünü yaptı, halen Dialogues in Pediatric Urology editoryal komitesinde, Urologic Surgery kitabının çocuk ürolojisi bölüm editörüğünü yapıyor.

Ürolojik Cerrahi Dereği Masaüstü başvuru kitabının editörlüğünü yaptı.

Yurt dışında yapılan çok sayıda toplantıda misafir konuşmacı olarak davet edildi.

Dünyanın çeşitli yerlerine Çocuk Ürolojisi bölümlerine misafir profesör ( ABD, İngiltere, Almanya, İtalya, Polonya, Romanya, Avusturya, Belçika, Danimarka, Mısır, Suudi Arabistan, İran, Nijerya, Gürcistan, Bengladeş, Hindistan, Rusya ) olarak davet edildi.

Yurtiçi ve yurtdışında çok sayıda çocuk ürolojisi ile ilgili kurs ve toplantıların organizasyonunu yaptı.


2002'de Hacettepe Üniversitesi Bilim Teşvik Ödülü'nü aldı.


Prof.Dr.Serdar Tekgül, Dünya Pediatrik Ürolojik Cerrahlar grubunun ( Society for Pediatric Urologic Surgeons – SPUS) 24 üyesinden biridir.

Akademik ve klinik çalışmalarını son 20 yıldır sadece çocuk ürolojisi alanında sürdürüyor.

Prof.Serdar Tekgül halen Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Üroloji Anabilim Dalı bünyesinde Çocuk Ürolojisi ünitesinden sorumlu olarak çalışıyor. Bu ünite Avrupa’da Çocuk Ürolojisi eğitimi verme için yeterlilik belgesi almış Türkiye deki ilk merkezdir ve Avrupa’daki 12 merkezden biridir. Bu yeterlilik 5 yıl önce kazanılmıştır, kazanıldığında Avrupa’daki ilk 6 merkezden biri olmuştur.

Prof.Serdar Tekgül’ün bu üniteden şimdiye kadar 4 kişi resmi olarak 2 şer yıllık eğitimlerini tamamlayarak Avrupa Çocuk Üroloji Akademisi üyeliği hakkını kazanmışlardır. Ayrıca 3 ü yurt dışından ( Mısır, Avusturya, ABD ) toplam 12 doktor 1 ile 12 ay arasında süren eğitim alma olanağı sağlamışlardır.
