About

Kastamonu Mustafa Kaya Anadolu Lisesi’ni birincilikle bitirdikten sonra 1998’ de Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi (İngilizce)’ ni kazanmış ve 2004’ te başarıyla mezun olmuştur. 2004-2009 yılları arasında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıbbi Patoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda uzmanlık eğitimini almıştır. 2008’de kemik ve yumuşak doku tümörleri ve nefropatoloji konularında çalışmak üzere 3 ay Mayo Clinic’te bulunmuştur. 2010-2011’de Ankara Atatürk Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi’nde uzman, 2011-2012’de Kafkas Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda kurucu öğretim üyesi ve başhekim yardımcısı görevlerini yerine getirmiştir. 2012 yılından itibaren Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıbbi Patoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda çalışmaktadır. Çalışma alanları özellikle kemik ve yumuşak doku tümör patolojisi başta olmak üzere cerrahi patolojidir (meme patolojisi ve üropatoloji). Evli ve iki çocuk babasıdır.

Patoloji konusunda uluslararası düzeyde 72 makalesi, ulusal düzeyde 2 ayrı kitapta 4 kitap bölümü, 1 çeviri bölümü, 2 çeviri editörlüğü, 23 makalesi bulunmaktadır. Çalışmaları genel olarak anatomik/cerrahi patoloji çerçevesinde şekillenmektedir. Renalamiloidoz nedenleri, alttipleri ve klinikopatolojik özellikleri, çeşitli yumuşak doku tümörlerinin (GIST, epitelioid sarkom, vasküler tümörler, şeffaf hücreli sarkom ve sinovyal sarkom gibi) tanısal özellikleri ve tanısal belirteç araştırmaları, kemikte ender olarak görülen tümörlerin morfolojik ve genetik özellikleri, hayvan modellerinde ilaçların hastalıklara karşı histomorfolojik etkilerinin incelenmesi, meme kanseri öncülü olabilecek lezyonların özellikleri gibi klinik araştırmalar yanı sıra skolyoz nedeniyle uygulanan cerrahi tekniklerin büyüme dönemindeki omurga üzerindeki etkileri, dokuların makroskopik incelemesinde yeni tekniklerin geliştirilmesi, ratlarda karaciğer rejenerasyonu konularında çalışmaları mevcuttur. Bu deneysel ve histomorfolojik araştırmalar yanı sıra patoloji laboratuarı kuruluş süreci, Türkiye’de patoloji asistan eğitimi ve otopsi statüsü gibi eğitsel ve idari konularda da yayınları bulunmaktadır. Ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde kurs ve kongre düzenleme kurullarında aktif rol almıştır.
