Dursun Alehan

Özel Darüşşafaka Lisesi’ni ve İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi’ni bitirdi. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı’nda uzmanlık eğitimini 1992’de, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Kardiyolojisi Bölümü’nde yan dal uzmanlık eğitimini 1996’da tamamladı. 1997'de doçent ve 2003 yılında profesör oldu.

1997-1999 tarihleri arasında iki yıl süre ile Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Kuzey Carolina'daki Duke Üniversitesi’nde ekokardiyografi, transösefageal ekokardiyografi ve girişimsel kardiyoloji alanlarında ve 2011 yılında 2 ay süre ile Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde Birmingham Çocuk Hastanesinde üç boyutlu ekokardiyografi ve çocuk kalp hastalıkları alanlarında çalışmalar yaptı.

Doğuştan ve sonradan olan her türlü kalp hastalıklarının tanı ve tedavisi, pulmoner hipertansiyon (akciğer basıncının yüksekliği), romatizmal ateş, ekokardiyografi, ritm bozuklukları, kalp kapaklarındaki ve damarlarındaki darlıkların balon ile giderilmesi (balon anjioplasti) ve kalp deliklerinin kapalı yöntemle (transkatater yöntemle) kapatılması özel ilgi alanlarıdır.

Prof.Dr.Dursun Alehan’ın uluslararası dergilerde yayınlanmış 100’ün üzerinde İngilizce ve çok sayıda Türkçe yayını bulunmaktadır.

1998-1999 akademik yılı Hacettepe Üniversitesi Araştırma Grubu Başarı Ödülü, 2000-2001 akademik yılı Hacettepe Üniversitesi Bilim Teşvik Ödülü, 2009-2010 akademik yılı Hacettepe Üniversitesi Araştırma Grubu Başarı Ödülü'ne layık görüldü.

Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde bilimsel araştırma yapmak amacı ile Tübitak NATO- B1 bursu ve YÖK bursu aldı.
